* Guide Bios *

There will be three guides and intermittent guests (TBA) blogging on this site each week throughout the reading of Letters of Insurgents.  The intention is not to bulk up your reading material, but to promote insight, solidarity,  continuity and context for the reading.  We hope to inspire you to keep reading and advocate for respectful and momentous dialogue both on this site and within your local discussion groups.

Aragorn! (Guide)
Bio in process… blog here.

Artnoose (Guide)
Artnoose was first exposed to Letters of Insurgents at an anarchist reading group, and her life was never the same again. She decided that not only was it the best novel ever written but that she herself should write a book. She soon embarked on an epic endeavor with a comrade to record the text in the form of an audio book. The project took three months and resulted in 33 hours of finished audio recording; perhaps more significantly however, it spawned a relationship that hit her life like a tornado and brought her across the continent to the rust belt city of Pittsburgh, where she still lives today.  Her blog is called artnoose’s sitch.

DeAnna Tibbs – Gardens of Resistanc (Guide)
DeAnna is what happens when you mix an anarchist punk thinker with a small town girl. Her philosophies are broad and multidimensional, but her heart and soul are local and community-based, which is centered in Oakland/Berkeley.  Making her living as a massage therapist, she aspires to write more and has a passion for networking.  She founded this project with the hopes of promoting her favorite, most life-changing book and is looking forward to collaborating with her favorite minds.  You can check out her personal blog, Gardens of Resistance, which is primarily about foster parenting.

Jeffrey Paris – Infinite Tasks (Administrator)
Jeffrey became an active blogger due to his participation in Infinite Summer, last summer’s reading of David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest.  When he is not walking his dogs,  he teaches philosophy at the University of San Francisco and has, of late, has been enjoying teaching Philosophy in Science Fiction.  He will be doing much of the administrative work associated with this project.  You can read his blog, Infinite Tasks, composed mostly of musings on Infinite Jest.

Ariel Amend-all (Guest – Yarostan’s Seventh Letter)
Ariel Amend-all, while a historically social and posi-person, has recently gotten in touch with her inner-hater and loner. She moved to, and currently lives in, the Bay Area for a sailboat project that collapsed rather spectacularly and now is going back to school for a sustainable horticulture degree. In her free time she combines her passion for knitting with her love of  “snooty-pants” cinema. Her interest in Letters of Insurgents is around the interpersonal relationships and morality proposed, with a special interest in its sexuality, from the vantage point of a survivor of childhood rape, molestation, and incest. You can read her personal blog here.
